Symphonic Pirate Rug Cutting

February 19th, 2008

Well, not a lot has happened in the past three weeks or so. I’ve been doing a lot of working, and so I tend to come home and just veg. That and it’s dark out which makes me less likely to actually do something. So I figured it was about time to write again, and being a three day weekend I thought it a good time. Except it’s been so bloody nice out! My goodness. Sunshine and fifty degree weather and Portlanders come out in droves.

Last weekend I was rather tired, so I remedied that by going to the Goodfoot and dancing until two in the morning. Then I did nothing the rest of the weekend. This Friday was Julia’s birthday and she wanted to opted for 80’s dancing. So dance we did. It’s fun, but three straight hours of dancing does work the muscles!

Saturday I went to see the Oregon Symphony play Liszt’s Concerto No 2 among some other great pieces. It was an excellent performance, and the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall (or as we like to call it, The Schnitz) is beautiful. I’m going back in two weeks to hear them play Shostakovich’s 5th, which should be amazing.

Sunday was a lazy meandering day so today I woke up early and ventured out into the brilliant sunlight and soaked it all in. I walked a couple of miles, crossed over the Willamette to the southeast and eventually back. Tonight I’m going Pirate mini-golfing with a friend. Not only is it pirate themed, it’s blacklit for added fun/difficulty.

So there that is. This week I have basically nothing planned and then next weekend Bethany is coming to visit. We went to Eastern for those of you who don’t know her. That should be a hoot. I’m sure there will be plenty to blog about after that.

Cheers!
