Yeah, We’re Losers

March 8th, 2008

I didn’t tight role my jeans. I thought about it, but I didn’t. I really want to get a decked out, but I don’t actually own anything 80’s. I *could* go thrift store shopping, but that’ll have to wait.

I had a great weekend with Bethany. She heard so much about my adventures in decades past, that she wanted to go too. And so we did. We danced our way until the wee hours of the morning. There were some there straight out of the 80’s. One guy, who’s a regular, hasn’t quite left the 80’s. It’s not just a Friday night event for him. More power to you, man!

We ran around the city seeing as much as we could. There are some photos of the weekend in the attached album. There aren’t many, but they are what they are. We did get crazy one night and take photos of ourselves. You can see a good example above. We had entirely too much fun with it.

So we had our fun, but Sunday morning I dropped her off at Union Station (yeah Amtrak!), and said our goodbyes. Exhausted from a long and fun weekend, I went to the Schnitz to hear Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony. It was extremely well done (I’d expect nothing less at the Schnitz), but I was extremely tired afterward.

And then Monday came. In at six am, out at 5:15 pm. Oh so much fun. Those days aren’t the norm, but long days are par for the course. Especially with April 13th looming ever closer. So as a result I’m usually tired. Or maybe just lazy. But either way, it takes me a bit longer than I’d like to get my blogs post. But thanks for still reading!

Oh, and for your listening pleasure, below is an artist that I’ve come to like. His name is Rob Costlow and he plays solo piano. SP album are often hit or miss and can be very boring. He, in my opinion, does an excellent job of it. So if you like piano music, give him a go. And if you really like it, you can download the entire album. Legally. His works are in the creative commons. Anyway, check him out.
