Oh No He Didn’t!

May 20th, 2008

So I know I promised you all pictures of the coast this post. I lied. I’m lazy, and my camera is still sitting on my couch, photos waiting to be uploaded. What can I say.

I forget everything that’s happened since the last time I wrote. I know stuff has happened, I just forget all of it. I know I went pirate mini-golfing with a friend. It was the best idea we could for escaping the brutal heat that we all we surprised at. It actually got up in the high nineties here. In Portland! That’s one of the reasons I moved here. I also went to the Schnitz again to see Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. If you’ve never heard, let me fill you in. It’s bloody awesome. And then some. If nothing else, visit the wiki page and listen to the 30 second clip to give you an idea.

And then there was the Cabaret night at the community center I volunteer at. Although there’s no dinner involved, so it would be more like karaoke with a piano and mostly show tunes. But that’s really neither here nor there. I so do not sing. I like to maintain the friendships I have, thank you very much. But it is a lot of fun.

What else… Oh yes. Tonight. As a lark, a few friends and I decided to go roller skating. Haven’t done that since, well, I can’t remember the last time. But it was rather enjoyable. That, and on a wager, a friend of mine dared me to go all decked out. And so I did. I figured now was as good a time as any to dust off the ole’ polyester leisure suit. And so it goes.

You know you’re jealous! The biggest surprise of the night wasn’t that I really didn’t get any odd looks (this is Portland afterall), but that it was surprisingly airy whilst I skated. But that could be because it was three sizes too big.

John, I owe you an email. I haven’t forgotten. At first I was pondering. Then I got distracted. Which is really why I should just respond as soon as I get it. Oh well. And as for comments, this blog does have comments; they’re just not the most intuitive yet. At the top of each post is the name of the post in green. If you click that it will take you specifically to that post’s page where you will see any comments. Additionally, you can click the number after the date to see/leave comments. I’ll have to see about changing that at some point.

Anyway, now that you know how to leave comments, have at it!

I thought I was having a good day today, that is until I saw this post… at which point I realized it is a FABULOUS day!
Don… do you have any idea how much effort I have put into trying to get these guys to bring pictures of themselves in leisure suits?!?! So far, Henry’s the only one that’s taken me up on it. But your picture, which btw you could almost pass for Eric Foreman (aka “Dumb A**), has brought so much joy to my life! It’s beautiful! Please wear that at least once a week.

And people wonder why I do it. It has a matching jacket, but it was entirely too hot to wear.

This reminds me of the time when John took pictures of me sticking my foot in my ear and then threatened to release them to the public if I wasn’t good. Of course by that time I had already posted it on the internet myself…

I never had a leisure suit however I did have blue platform shoes and bell bottoms. Scary. A long shag haircut, a Marlboro and a can of Bud. Oh, and one last thing, I was thinner than Don, (28″ waist). Boy how the years have changed things. Through it all…..I never owned ANYTHING orange except of course my “Yerd’s Herd” bandanna, but that was a gift.
Susan couldn’t wait for My and I to see this post. She emailed the link to us seconds after she saw it. Fun times. Talk to you soon. JNI

Oh now you need to dig up old photos of that!

I don’t know Don… I don’t think those pictures will ever surface. But if they do… I will certainly run them to the scanner for your viewing pleasure! :)
