I figured out who's replacing me... it's worse than I thought. She really is inept. I took a class she taught and I knew more about the subject matter than she did. Silver lining though, a position just opened up that I may have a shot at, and I have a very good "in". I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but my current boss is excited that it could work. If it does, it would actually be a lot more interesting for me than my current job AND I could probably manipulate it to help me go to school. Cross your fingers! Acutally, I heard nothing of the sort... but I'd be thrilled to have you back at the Mawr:) "The boys" are familiar with this type of union policy. Evidently, "Bumping" people out of their jobs was pretty common practice for railroaders back in the day. For me, seems that after seeing how crazy it was in the beginning, someone might want to think about changing the policy to make it more... oh... I don't know... LOGICAL?!?! Ooow... Don! The fact that it's so insanely unfair and there's nothing anyone can do about it is what bothers me most. I took a day off today to try and figure out what to do with my life. I'm thinking it might just be grad school. And despite the fact that I fear for the marketability of it, I'm thinking Anthro. I just hope I don't have massive loans that I can't repay when I'm living in a cardboard box on the side of the street. At first I was thinking about working a crap job and going part-time. But I don't know if that's possible with the program I'm looking at. And I <b>do</b> prefer to devote all my energy to my studies. But that really does equal the massive loans. Sigh.
